Mariela Neagu, my colleague in the EC Delegation in Bucharest, has been appointed Secretary of State for Child Protection.
She was for seven years the driving force behind the EC Programmes that supported the reform of the Romanian child protection.
A clearer commitment to the Rights of the Child could not be made by the Tariceanu government.
Congratulations Mariela!

I am delighted that Marinela Neagu is now the Secretary of State for child protection in Romania. Her many years of promoting and working in the domain of childcare reforms are a credit to her. I can think of no better person for this important position in Romania. Well done Prime Minister Tareceanu as with Marinela we know the children will be well protected in Romania as they are in the best hands.
